Internationalisation Programme and Overseas Trips
Introduction to programme
At New Town Secondary School, we provide opportunities for our students to embark on Internationalisation
Programme and Overseas Trips. The various departments have been organising Overseas Learning Trips
using the Internationalisation Fund. We have a planned approach for overseas trips which focuses on Values
In Action Projects, School Immersion Programme and Educational & Cultural Exchange Programme.
Our Overseas Trips adhere to the TIE fund objectives through programming and planning. We also want to
encourage increase level of student participation to ensure that more students are given a chance to join
our overseas learning trips across their 4 to 5 years of education at New Town Secondary School.
- To imbue in our students a global perspective and fresh insights on life outside of Singapore through immersion / educational trip in a foreign culture and way of life.
- To develop a deep sense of sensitivity to Singapore in the world and deepen students’ commitment and rootedness to Singapore.
- To develop in our students the 21CC of global awareness and cross-cultural skills and sensitivities through Overseas Trip.
The highlight for this year, is the Secondary 2 cohort trip to Malacca which will take place during the September Holidays. The Secondary 2 students will have the opportunities to learn about the geographical, historical and social development of Malacca. At the same time, the students will take part in an Immersion Programme during the trip.
